Firefighters in Los Angeles are preparing for what could be the most dangerous days of the disaster, one week after fires broke out across Southern California.

Almost the entire area of Los Angeles is under a fire warning of some sort – ranging from ‘elevated’ to ‘extreme’.

Strong winds are forecast to move into the area beginning early morning Tuesday, and lasting into late Wednesday night – and a new blaze has begun north in Ventura County.

Venture County authorities said that, as of an hour ago, the fire had been contained in the riverbed near where it broke out and posed ‘no threat’ to residential structures at the time, but an evacuation order had been issued nearby for businesses.

Helicopters are working on the source of the fire, according to a reporter on the ground, but roads near the blaze have been closed.
